MaZimba
MaZimba is a community app for the Zimbabwean diaspora with more than 15,000 downloads. The app worked, but people were not staying, so we reworked the UI and UX. Time spent in the app went up by 30%.
The brief
The app was built and 15,000 people had downloaded it, but they were not staying. The interface got in the way of the content, and sessions were short.
How we made it
We kept what worked and rebuilt the parts that did not. Clearer navigation, a calmer visual language, and screens organised around how people actually use the app rather than how it was first put together.
What changed
A version the community found easier to live in. After the redesign, time spent in the app rose by 30%.
